East
A village in the heart of downtown Chicago, Lakeshore East spans
28 acres as the largest parcel of downtown land under development
in any major U.S. city. Developed by NNP Residential & Magellan Development Group LLC,
this $4 billion mixed-use development represents an entirely
new urban neighborhood, which will include 4,950 residences,
2.2 million gross square feet of commercial space, 1,500 hotel
rooms, a public park and a proposed elementary school. In 2002 the development won the American
Institute of Architects Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design
for its master plan, designed by the renowned architects of Skidmore,
Owings & Merrill.
